This is my interpretation of a study for a smaller turret for the KV-2. It never went any further than the initial drawing.
I kinda stopped taking in progress images one I started airbrushing paint. This was partly because I was not happy with the initial outcome. I first tried hand painting a hard edge scheme for the two camo colors. the result was... meh. I went over this with an airbrush several times until I was finally happy with the result but lost the hard edge effect I was after. The model is weathered with oil paints, enamel weathering products, and pigments.
Here are a few in progress images.
The turret was designed in SolidWorks and BJ at PanzerConcepts printed these parts for me. (May he forever rest in peace.) I left channels between the panels to add epoxy welds. The model was detailed with assorted MasterClub rivets. One of the design flaws I found was the Driver and Radio Operator cannot open their hatch with the gun forward.
Progress on the build. The turret has been cleaned up, assembled and detailed. The hull has been assembled and detailed with epoxy putty welds. I've used Voyager PE to replace the kit air intake and exhaust screens. Next will be PE fenders and 3D printed tracks.
Images of PE and detail work.

It needs some cleanup and minor welds added next.
