If you are having issues signing in, please ensure cookies are enabled. If youre tech-savvy, open Developer Tools and look for a cookie named SMFCookie488.

Hi,
I presume the upgrade is still ongoing... (I was unable to upload an avatar to my account - getting a double error / warning; a transient issue?).

sorry - its been a busy few weeks. the layout files changed between versions so to restore the old one will take some fandangling. things return to normal for me next week so i'll be able to work on this next weekend.

Well, at least, uploading avatars is now active... I do not know if they will be ported from the old forum in time, but I have updated mine anyway :) [Ah! no emojis yet?].

A possible workaround till they're enabled is, with your cursor in the editing pane, to click the Windows button and the period key at the same time. That should open the emojis popup.

I use that with some websites don't show an emoji feature.

Super glad this is back up and running. Over the years I have been in and out. When I checked last I was like, "Oh no!", so thank you to everyone responsible for bringing this back up. I know it had to be quite a bit of work.

fonts are a little whacked. the tricky thing nowadays is balancing browser vs mobile vs responsive layout.

Terrific work, guys. This type of techno wizardry is about 117 levels above my paygrade. :)  I do know it's several steps easier to post photos/links from my ImageShack account, and noted the throwback/much beloved background upgrade over the weekend. I'm so delighted to be back on this forum.

Bill, how do you post photos?  I use a photo hosting site (Postimage), which provides me a link.  I just paste that link into the body of a post, like this one:



That's about as simple as I can imagine, but I know other people use other methods, including the Insert Image tool that is visible in this editor.  But that's too many clicks for my taste.

Okay, that didn't work. If I click the little photo icon after the YouTube icon, it just lets me pop in the url and insert the ImageShack photo:



As I recall, on the old site there were before and after thingie dingies to get a picture to load. But I never mastered Fortran, and all computer technogizmology eludes me, limiting me pretty much to "User Only" status. LOL
