Since the forum update spammers have hit my email. Has this happened to anyone else?

OK, that specific link presents the linked image, which is what I expected.  No additional steps required.  That would be my preference, but you should choose whatever works best for you.  I like "fewest clicks".

OK, I followed your link in the post before that last one, and it took me to ImageShack, to the page with the image.
I clicked the Get Links/Sizes button, and in the dialog box that opened, for Types, I clicked the dropdown and selected Forums.  That gave me a link with URL tags, which is the same format that Postimage presents for "Hotlinks for forums", so I copied that and pasted it here:

Okay, that didn't work. If I click the little photo icon after the YouTube icon, it just lets me pop in the url and insert the ImageShack photo:

As I recall, on the old site there were before and after thingie dingies to get a picture to load. But I never mastered Fortran, and all computer technogizmology eludes me, limiting me pretty much to "User Only" status. LOL

Bill, how do you post photos?  I use a photo hosting site (Postimage), which provides me a link.  I just paste that link into the body of a post, like this one:

That's about as simple as I can imagine, but I know other people use other methods, including the Insert Image tool that is visible in this editor.  But that's too many clicks for my taste.

Terrific work, guys. This type of techno wizardry is about 117 levels above my paygrade. :)  I do know it's several steps easier to post photos/links from my ImageShack account, and noted the throwback/much beloved background upgrade over the weekend. I'm so delighted to be back on this forum.

Question: What happened on January 11th?   Most Online Ever: 540 (January 11, 2023, 07:24:52 AM)

Ah, OK, is that what it is?  I see what looks like the old forum theme, for the page background, the banner/header, etc.

sure thing Kevin.

fonts are a little whacked. the tricky thing nowadays is balancing browser vs mobile vs responsive layout.
